If Mohammed can't go to the mountain...

Hey there!!
Winter is a difficult time for kids. They want to play, they want to go to the park, they want to do lots of things... but they can't because of the terrible weather. So here's a little an easy idea to cheer them up a little. If they can't go to the park....why don't you bring home a piece of the park?
You will need to collect some leaves (you can choos different shapes and sizes, variety is always a plus). Then, you just need same white sheets and some crayons. And if you want to make the whole thing a little bit funnier, you can add glue and glitters (or coloured paper, or coloured cotton...) to the lot.

Then, you put the chosen leaf on the table, you put the paper on the leaf and you start rubbing with your pencil. You'll see the leaf starts to show!! You can explain every step to the kids while you go on, or you can give them the adequate instructions, so they can do it.

Once you have the main part, the rest is decoration. You need some glue, so you can stick cotton, papers or glitter to your leaf.

Last step: decorate your leaf. I've chosen glitters, but there's a great number of posibilites. Look, this is what you can get in the end:

We tried this activity at school this afternoon and it was fun, kids really enjoy it. I hope you do too!!

I'm Peppa Pig

Hey there!! If you have little kids at home, I'm sure you know this lovely little piggy, but in case you don't...I'm very happy to introduce Peppa Pig to you all. Peppa is a little pig who lives with her mummy and daddy and her little brother George. Through a great deal of short episodes (they don't last more than 5 minutes), we'll have the opportunity to meet the rest of her family, her friends...and to join Peppa in lots of funny and sweet adventures. There are lots of this episodes you can watch easily and for free in youtube, though if you are really interested I'd recommend you to download them (not all the episodes are available). It's a very easy and funny way to practice English with your kids and pupils, children just love Peppa!!
Here's an example. It's very cold and rainy these days and sometimes it's difficult to keep children in good spirits. Let's see Peppa's parents solution to these problem!

Starry, starry night.

Hiya back!!
Remember that we talked about webquests some time ago? A webquest is a really useful tool, one that helps  us learn about a certain subject as well as about  the ICT and, in this particular case,  about English. Besides, we all can make our own webquest very easily and adapt them to the group or purpose we are dealing with everytime. Just imagine the posibilities!!

Today, I present you with a webquest I created for an imaginary 5th Primary class. But I really recommend you to visit Google Sites and create your own webquests, it's easy and fast and you have an almost infinite number of posibilites. Enjoy!!

Soothing little star.

Hiya back!

We live troubled and difficult times, and we all need a moment to relax...more than ever. Even kids (specially kids) need that. This is one of the cutest and more soothing songs I've ever found. My kids love it and they also demand it when I walk through the door! I can hear them sing it when I'm approaching the classroom!!
I hope you like it as much as they do. Enjoy!

Teddy's dresser

Hello again!!

It's been  very long absence!! I hope it will never happen again. All try to make amends the best way I can by offering you really interesting activities to do with your kids.
We tried this website at school today and it was fun. All kids wanted to participate!! It's really useful to practice all the vocabulary related to clothes (just one little problem...it may be too short for a big group).
I really hope you enjoy it!!
